One Nottingham funding

One Nottingham's Board made some important funding decisions last Friday, committing £9.6m for 2008/09. Individual projects will be receiving written confirmation of their position in the next few days - please wait to be contacted by your One Nottingham project officer. In the meantime, here is some more information.

Money money money

A consultation event on the Council's medium term financial plan is your chance to hear from the deputy leader of the Council and their finance team about the Council's plan for spending their available resources. Come along and have your say. It's on Friday 8 February, 10.00am to 1.00pm at the Voluntary Action Centre on Mansfield Road.

 

Making LINks

Nottingham City Council is holding a meeting with voluntary and community groups, and anyone else interested in learning more about Local Involvement Networks (LINks). LINks enable voluntary organisations and health & social care users to influence how health and social care services are delivered in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire after April 2008. The meeting will be held at the Pakistan Community Centre on Woodborough Road on Wednesday 20 February at 10.00am. Celebrate in style

Chinese New Year falls on 7 February in the Western calendar, and it will be the year of the rat. Celebrate in style with school and community groups performing on a large outdoor stage, followed by a spectacular fireworks finale on Sunday 10 February. Tell me more!

 

Community railways

The Community Railways are looking for people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds to attend a meeting about encouraging greater rail use by BME communities. This national conference on Thursday 1 May at the Nottingham Ice Arena will discuss things such as: perceived and actual barriers, understanding the needs of BME, forming and strengthening links with diverse users. Sustain your neighbourhoods with NDC

The Neighbourhood Development Company (NDC) is looking for residents of Radford, Hyson Green and Forest Fields who are passionate about their neighbourhood and who have the enthusiasm to make a change for the sake of the environment.  A training event on Wednesday 12 March will help community members to create solutions to local environmental issues and promote sustainability in their neighbourhoods.  Places must be booked with Jeff Buck at NDC on 0115 964 8370 or jeff@ndcnottingham.org.uk.
