One Nottingham Election 2009

We're starting the hunt for One Nottingham's next voluntary sector voice.

One Nottingham is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for Nottingham. The voluntary sector has two places on the One Nottingham Board. A representative's term on the Board lasts for two years. At the end of those two years, we hold an election.

The two year term for one of the representatives, Helen Voce, Nottingham Council for Voluntary Service, is now coming to an end. So it's time to open up the opportunity to staff, volunteers and board members of Nottingham's voluntary and community sector.

Could it be you? How to nominate yourself.

In January, the sector will vote for its chosen representative. You need to make sure you're on the list if you want to get a voting pack. Make sure you're on the list.

Commissioning - how is it for you?

Are you ready for or interested in commissioning? Or frustrated with the commissioning process? We would like to hear your views!

Nottingham Community Network is carrying out a survey of voluntary groups in Nottingham to find out which groups are involved or interested in commissioning. This will help us to make better contacts with groups, support them and offer relevant training. It will also help us to improve statutory bodies' understanding of the voluntary and community sector (VCS) and promote commissioning approaches which allow participation of the VCS.

Please help us to help you by completing a short survey.

Our new commissioning officers, Nick Weatherall (general commissioning) and Miley Lewis (children’s services) want to meet people who have things to say about commissioning, who have experience of the process or who have views about how it affects the sector. Please email or call them if you want to share your views and experience of commissioning:
